How we use FDD data

The franchise data referenced on Zorzee is sourced from publicly available Franchise Disclosure Documents and other public records. FDDs are amended over time, are filed on different schedules in different states, and can contain errors. We cite the specific Item and filing year for the figures we publish, but you should independently verify any number before you rely on it. Where a brand's most recent filing differs from what we reference, the filing controls.

Earnings, Item 19, and results

When a franchisor discloses financial performance in Item 19, those are the franchisor's figures, not ours, and gross sales are not profit. When a franchisor does not disclose Item 19, that franchisor opted not to provide an earnings claim. We do not infer or estimate numbers a franchisor chose not to disclose. Past performance does not predict future results, and individual results vary widely based on operator, market, capital, and conditions outside anyone's control. Nothing on Zorzee is a guarantee or projection of any specific outcome.

Reporting and opinion

Zorzee separates the two on purpose. Factual reporting is sourced. Opinion is labeled, usually as "Dan's Take" or "What concerns me." Opinion is one operator's reading of the document. It is not a recommendation to buy or to avoid any franchise.

Independence

Zorzee earns zero revenue from franchisors: no commissions, no placement fees, no franchisor advertising, no sponsored content. How Zorzee is funded, and how its relationship to Guerrilla Franchising and Books Brothers is handled, is set out in full on our Disclosures page.
